OUR PROJECTS

We've worked the past 3 years on initiatives to improve the City of Blaine's compliance with state, county and municipal laws that protect our drinking water, aquifer, watersheds and coastlines. We focus on City planning rules and quasi-judicial decisions that limit questionable fairness, access to public information and citizen say in impactful decisions. We help everyday citizens navigate complex planning rules and planning processes to get better, safer environmental outcomes for our water resources. All of our work keeps in mind the need for responsible, sustainable development for affordable housing. Our projects range from compliance actions to policy recommendations (comprehensive plan, adoption of updated stormwater plans).

Who we work with
We work on projects with city neighborhood associations, Birch Bay civic leaders, county officials and local environmental  organizations.  Our value comes from understanding how to navigate planning department procedures, insider processes and rules for intervention when needed. We offer technical, expert witness and volunteer resources to reduce legal costs  associated with environmental compliance.
